Ethan Evans’ paper Unequal access: insurance coverage and immigrant generational status of diverse children will be published.
Ethan Evans’ paper Unequal access: insurance coverage and immigrant generational status of diverse children will be published in a Racial and Ethnic Studies Series book entitled Health Care and Immigration: Understanding the Connections, edited by Patricia Fernandez-Kelly and Alejandro Portes and published by Routledge. The print version will be available December 9th with a 2013 publication date. Ethan’s work documents inequities in health insurance coverage for children across immigrant generations for four major U.S. racial/ethnic groups, testing potential explanations for racial/ethnic-generational differences using data from the 2007 National Survey of Child Health and highlights theoretical links between access to care and assimilation. The publication resulted from his qualifying paper and extensive support from Assistant Professor Erin Hamilton. http://www.routledge.com/books/details/9780415519762/
