Raoul Liévanos invited to participate in the Advanced Spatial Pattern Analysis workshop at UCSB

Raoul Liévanos was one of 24 Ph.D. students, post-doctoral fellows, and early faculty members invited to participate in the National Institutes of Health-supported Advanced Spatial Pattern Analysis national workshop offered by The Pennsylvania State University Population Research Institute and the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) Center for Spatially Integrated Social Sciences.

This year’s workshop will be held at UCSB, July 19-23, 2010. The primary goals of this workshop are for participants to learn, share, and elaborate on cutting-edge techniques in advanced spatial analysis with geographic information systems (GIS) with leading scholars in the field, and apply those techniques to their own research. Upon completion of the workshop, Raoul will have conducted important preliminary data analysis for his dissertation, be awarded a scholarship for his participation, and given a certificate of completion from the GIS Population Science Training Program in Advanced Spatial Analysis from the UCSB Center for Spatially Integrated Social Science.
