About

Nadia is a PhD student in the Department of Sociology at University of California, Davis. Her research uses qualitative and comparative historical methods approaches to study political and economic social transitions in the United States and Europe. She focuses on political-economy, climate change, democracy and social justice. Nadia's studies examine how access to power or lack thereof, cultural contexts, and lived experiences of various social groups, influence their actions and perspectives about the world. Her research sits at the intersection of politics, economics, environmental studies, social policy and consumption.

Her current scholarship concentrates on how decades of ongoing transition in coal communities in Europe and the United States affect their perspectives on climate crisis borne transitions away from the fossil fuel energy order. She is also working on projects about the role of experts and elites in the transition from communism to free market democracy in Poland and its ongoing consequences, as well as, discourses about solving world hunger.
