Study Abroad Information

Expand your horizons, literally and academically, through the UC Davis Study Abroad program.

International experience is of increasingly critical importance for all fields of study, and sociology is no exception. As the world gets more and more globalized, the ability to tackle social issues cross-culturally will continue to become increasingly important.

Studying in another nation as a student in the UC Davis College of Letters and Science is both possible and encouraged. Through the UC Davis Study Abroad program, many varied opportunities exist — you may enroll in a two-week seminar in Europe, spend a quarter overseas, or take advantage of full, year-long immersion opportunities to attend classes at foreign universities all over the globe while earning UC Davis unit credits. The key is to start early and plan ahead! Financial Aid goes with you and your Department of Sociology advisors (along with advisors in the Study Abroad program) are here to help you make it happen.

The Department of Sociology has compiled its own database of previously approved Study Abroad courses for sociology students.

The roster of courses encompasses subject matter for nearly 100 majors. UC Davis Study Abroad has identified a list of programs recommended for sociology students.

Department of Sociology undergraduate advisors can help you determine how best to incorporate a Study Abroad experience into your academic plan.
