PhD Student
Mariah Wade is a doctoral student in Sociology at the University of California, Davis. She earned her B.A. in Criminology & Justice Studies, with minors in Sociology, Political Science, and Literature, from California State University San Marcos and her M.S. in Criminal Justice from the University of Southern California. Her research examines racial and gender inequalities in education, the structural barriers that shape academic outcomes, and the intersection between social mobility and institutional support. Before beginning her Ph.D., Mariah worked as a Research Analyst, managing quality improvement and data analytics for behavioral health and substance use programs. She hopes to pursue a career in academia focused on research and teaching that promote equity and access in higher education.
