Following the campus guidelines for Coronavirus all UC Davis classes, lectures, seminars, labs and discussion sections will move to virtual instruction and remain virtual through the end of Fall quarter 2020, including final exams. An article entitled 'Resisting the racialization of medical deservingness: How Latinx nurses produce symbolic resources for Latinx immigrants in clinical encounters' co-authored by Professor Ming-Cheng Lo was recently published by Social Science & Medicine. Highlights from the article include how Latinx nurses try to mitigate Latinx patients' feelings of undeservingness, and the tensions the nurses face between ethnic solidarity and professional boundaries.
