About
Yu-Chang Wu is a PhD student in Sociology. His research focuses on social stratification, educational inequality, school-to-work transitions, and quantitative methods. His master’s thesis employed a causal framework to assess how the strength of field-occupation matching in Taiwan contributes to widening early-career wage inequality, and compared the estimation performance between different matching assessment.
He is currently combining multiple quantitative approaches with longitudinal data to examine the structural conditions and mechanisms through which extracurricular achievements (e.g., double majors, competitions, and student organizations) and cultural capital are converted into labor-market advantages, and to further explain how this process contributes to the reproduction of inequality between families.
