The American Sociological Association (ASA) and the Student Forum Advisory Board (SFAB) selected her paper, "Jagged Edges of a Broken Glass Ceiling: Powerful Women are Discriminated Against Most in Large Organizations," which will be recognized at the 2026 ASA Annual Meeting in New York City this August.

This award honors faculty for exceptional achievement in research innovation.

This annual award was instituted in 1994 to recognize faculty for excellence in mentoring undergraduate research as a way to emphasize the importance and visibility of faculty’s contribution to the excellence in mentoring and advocacy for undergraduate research and creative activities.

Racial Discourse in Presidential Health Speeches from Roosevelt to Biden" examines the prevalence and nature of racial discourse in 90 years of presidential health speeches, from Roosevelt to Biden, addressing, in particular, a debate about whether racial discourse rose or fell after the Civil Rights Era.
