Asia Ivey, who will graduate with her PhD in Sociology this summer, has accepted a position with UC Davis Health as a Research Data Analyst for the Violence Prevention Research Program.

Professor Ariana Valle's article, "‘He begins by targeting Mexicans and he will end with Puerto Ricans’: Unpacking Florida Puerto Ricans’ politics of immigration," published in Ethnic and Racial Studies, has received Honorable Mention for the American Sociological Association's Latina/o Sociology Section’s Distinguished Contribution to Research Article Award. 

Chendong Pi was awarded the UCD Dean’s Summer Graduate Fellowship, as well as the China Times Cultural Foundation Scholarship for Doctoral Dissertation Research. 

Joss Greene's "The Insurgent Agency of Incarcerated Trans Women of Color," published in Signs: Journal of Women in Culture and Society48(4), 873–896, won the American Sociological Association's Section on Body & Embodiment article award.

Veronica Lerma's article “Intersectional Criminalization: How Chicanas Experience and Navigate Criminalization through Interpersonal Relationships with Latino Men and Boys” published in Sociological Perspectives 66(2), 311-330, received the American Sociological Association's Section on Crime, Law & Deviance James F. Short Distinguished Article Award.
